CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WEEK 4 WINNER:
STEVE R.!!

Thank you to all who participated and
congratulations to the winners!  The sweepstakes
was such a success, we will be announcing another
one in the near future!

March 3, 2010
Like I predicted, warmer temperatures and the drastic water
change definitely picked up the fishing.  The water dropped to 285
CFS and this really concentrated the fish.  The upper fly stretch
and the hatchery have been packed with fish.  The long period of
high water has brought lots of fish to the very upper stretches of
the river.  Now that it dropped it sucked down alot of fish down
from the upper fly stretch, which doesn't open until April 1, 2010.
It also appears that it sparked some fresh fish to move up river.
Some guide friends have been doing well float fishing the lower
river on trout beads and egg sacs, as well as the upper river.
Monday I landed 9 fish.  7 on caddis patterns size 12 and 2 on
black stones.
It feels like spring is finally in the air.  Starting this weekend the
temps are supposed to be in the upper 40's.  I also think the
fishing will continue to heat up.  The fish are getting active and
are anxious to start spawning.  I don't expect the water to stay low
very long considering we still have over 2 feet of snow on the
ground.
Monday my clients picked up a 13+ female and the eggs were
pouring out so we released her quickly.  Boy, this year, more than
years passt, we're catching BIG fish.  It seems at least one fish a
day hooked is over 13 lbs.
River conditions will be changing alot in the next couple of weeks
so stay tuned.  I do have some lodging available as well as a few
days left open for guiding, so give me a call.
